Despite rarely being advertised as one of Justice League‘s leading heroes, most folks knew that Superman would be back in action during the movie. This was accomplished by bringing Superman’s body back to the Kryptonian ship in Metropolis and using its technology with one of the Mother Boxes, he was successfully resurrected. However, he wasn’t quite himself upon reawakening (to put it delicately), and he nearly tore the League apart until Batman brought Lois Lane to calm him down. One trip to the Smallville farm later, Superman was back to his normal self and flew off to aid Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg with defeating Steppenwolf. Rather than don a black suit for the job, he put on a shiner version of his traditional red, blue and yellow costume. Now that he’s resumed his superhero duties, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see Superman shift to a black suit for Man of Steel 2 or wherever he next appears. As far as the DC Extended Universe canon goes, that particular fashion choice has been tossed aside.
