Jim Crowley and Enbihaar romp to victory in the Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes
A review of the action so far from Doncaster on Thursday as Enbihaar put in a brave performance to win the Park Hill Stakes.
Enbihaar digs deep to land Park Hill
Enbihaar put up a tough and classy performance to win the DFS Park Hill Stakes.
Sent off the 6/5 favourite on the back of a taking success at Glorious Goodwood, John Gosden’s four-year-old filly set sail for home a couple of furlongs from home but Jim Crowley had to get serious in the saddle as Ryan Moore challenged on her inside aboard Delphinia.
The Aidan O’Brien filly was receiving 13lb from the proven Group Two winner but couldn’t get to the front and had to settle for second at 15/2, beaten just a short-head.
Vivid Diamond (12/1) finished third for Mark Johnston and Franny Norton.
Crowley said on Sky Sports Racing: “She’s a real star and she’s got better and better. She got to the front and thought she’d done enough but she’s tough.”
Graceful edges thrilling nursery
Graceful Magic got the verdict over fellow 5/1 joint-favourite Stylistique to win the opening British Stallion Studs EBF ‘Carrie Red’ Fillies’ Nursery.
The photo was required to split them as the pair flashed passed the post together but it was Charles Bishop’s mount – trained by Eve Johnson Houghton – who held a short-head advantage when it mattered most.
